PowerBook G4 Although they did not announce an Intel-based architecture as some had hoped (Apple still says Q1/2006), Apple did make some significant changes to the PowerBook line, specifically the 15" and 17" models. First of all, the resolution has increased on both models. The 15" now has 1,440x960 and the 17" has 1,680x1,050 (same as the 20" Cinema Display). All new PowerBooks will now be shipping with a SuperDrive with Double-Layer support. They will also ship native with BlueTooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate). The base price for the 15" is $1,999, and $2,499 for the 17". Click here for more details. |

Aperture Aperture is to Images what Final Cut Pro is to video. Aperture is a brand new application aimed at the professional digital photographer. The most important feature is that it offers a true end-to-end RAW workflow for professionals (and semi-pros). It will also include certain features for red-eye reduction, converting to black & white, etc. Since Apple has not entered the professional digital imaging market until now, it will be exciting to see how this software works. Price is $499. Click here for more details. |
