Mac Tip of the Day
iTunes :: Create a Music Store Wish List

You typically browse through the iTunes Music Store for two reason:

1) You want to buy a song or video now
2) You don't necessarily want to buy something now, but want to see what's new for later purchase

In scenario number 1, you simply click the "Buy" button to purchase your song or video. In scenario number 2, however, how do you keep track of what you have and haven't purchased in the past? And how do you keep track of what you want to buy (eventually) without duplicating items? This is where a wish list could come in handy.

To create your own iTunes Music Store wish list is easy. The first thing you need to do (or should do) is to create a new Playlist called "Wish List" (if you choose not to create a new Playlist, you would use your main Library). When you browse through the iTunes Music Store and find something you would like to purchase in the future, simple drag that item from the Music Store into your newly created Playlist "Wish List".

When you browse through your new wish list, you will now see a series of songs or videos. When you are ready to purchase a title, click on the "Buy" button.

iTunes is also smart enough to know if you have already purchased one of the songs in your wish list. If it detects that you have already purchased a particular title through iTunes before, the "Buy" button won't be available. What a great feature!
