Migration Assistant :: Move Into Your New Mac... Fast! Buying a new Mac is fun and exciting, but when it's time to get settled in, it can be time-consuming. Especially if you have a lot of data, applications and specific settings you want moved over. To help you make the transition faster, Apple has included a great little utility in OS X Tiger. It's called the Migration Assistant. Before you use the Migration Assistant, you first need to connect your two Macs (old and new) together using a FireWire cable. Once connected, you will open the utility (found under Applications | Utilities). A wizard begins the transfer process, and will look like this:
From here, simply follow the simple prompts, and within a few minutes, you will be all moved in and ready to enjoy your new purchase! |
