La la la, ta la da da, hm hm hm...

Have you ever sung a tune in your head, and been pulling your hair out because you can't think of the name of the song, or the group who sings it? Fortunately, I have a sister-in-law who is awesome at knowing the titles of songs. You can sing or hum anything, and she will tell you what the name is. Not everyone has a sister-in-law like that though, so we need to rely on our own knowledge, and technology (of course).

There's a really cool web site that can help with this problem. It's called SongTapper.com. All you need to do is sing (or hum) the song to yourself while tapping into a special input device shown below:

That's right, it's a standard keyboard! As you are singing the song, hit the space bar for each syllable you sing. A classic example is "Jingle Bells". Once you have tapped in as much as you can, complete the process to have the system give you the results. I tried it on several songs. On some it worked, and others it didn't. But as a last resort, it's a pretty cool tool to have.
