iTunes :: Sharing Video Content We all know that sharing audio content in iTunes is a simple thing to do. I would be surprised if you weren't doing this already. In case you aren't, this feature can be turned on from the iTunes preferences (click on the Sharing button). When the introduction of video content made its debut with iTunes many months ago, a lot of iTunes users were frustrated to find that video, unlike audio, could not be shared to other users on the LAN. This change finally came about in the most recent version of iTunes, but was not really advertised, so I will advertise it here... YOU CAN NOW SHARE iTUNES VIDEO CONTENT OVER THE LAN!!!!! Sorry to yell, but this is very exciting. It works the same way that sharing audio content does. Simply turn on sharing in your iTunes preferences. If you purchased the video content via the iTunes Music Store, then the other person viewing it will need to be authorized (and you can only authorize up to 5 computers). If it's content that you made, the sky is the limit. So enjoy this new (and badly needed) feature!! |
