Mac OS X :: Adding Buttons to the Finder Toolbar The default toolbar in the Finder can be kind of boring, and could lead one to think that there isn't much functionality built into it. On the contrary, there is a lot you can do right from the Finder window. By simply adding a few buttons to it, you can open up a whole new world of functionality. To add these additional buttons, make sure Finder if your current application then go to View > Customize Toolbar... At this point, you will see a new window appear showing the available buttons:
To add one or more of these buttons, simply drag and drop the ones you want to the Finder toolbar. Below is a sample of the default toolbar as well as a newly designed toolbar:
If you take it too far, and really mess things up, don't worry... there is a way to undo it. At the bottom of the customization screen, there is a default toolbar configuration. Simply drag that area to the toolbar to restore the default settings. |
