iPods are expensive, but for good reason. They are useful and fun. Both of those benefits entice you to carry it with you all the time, but that can cause scratches. The protect against the inevitable, you need something to cover it. The problem is, most of the protective covors on the market are obnoxious. I found one that A) protects your iPod like nothing else, and B) looks fantastic! It's called the InvisibleShield.

Originally designed for the military to protect they machinery, this material is now used to protect PDAs, cell phones, and most importantly, iPods. The average cost is $20, and is available at some local stores as well as online (here).

Below is a picture of a 5th generation iPod before and after application of the Invisible Shield. As you can see, it has no impact on the looks, afterall, Jonathan Ive spent a lot of time to make it look good. Why not take advantage of that!?
