iPhoto :: Creating a Photo Book Creating a digital photo album in iPhoto is a piece of cake (just click on the plus [+] under the current list of albums, and give it a name). Although it requires a little more work on your part for design and organization, creating a photo book is equally as easy, and can sometimes be a little more rewarding (not to mention fun to give as a gift for birthdays, anniversaries, etc). Prices for books do change with time, so I won't list them here (although I will show you how to find them out during the creation of your book), but I will say they are reasonable, considering what you get. The best way to begin planning for your book is to create a new photo album, and move the photos you want to use for the book into this album from your main library. As an example, I created a new album called "Cupertino", and moved photos of a recent trip to Cupertino into the newly created album. Next, I highlight the new album, and click on the new book icon at the bottom. It will ask me to choose a theme. Notice that there is a button here that says "Options + Prices...". There is your price information. After you have chosen a theme and hit "Choose Theme", iPhoto automatically creates the book template for you. Once you are set to go with your template, simply drag and drop your photos from the top into the slots pre-defined for you in the book. Not too excited about a particular page layout? No problem. You have the option of changing pages to various layout designs. |
