The Perfect EQ Settings in iTunes?
Every audiophile knows that it's difficult (extremely difficult) to get the perfect sound from any audio playback device. iTunes includes a great EQ (equalizer) feature, complete with many preset EQ settings (Bass Boost, Vocals, Talk, Pop, etc). Most of them sound pretty good, but not perfect. In my quest to find the perfect all-around EQ settings, I ran across a post by an anonymous user who claims to have found the perfect settings. I tried it out, and while it isn't perfect, it's pretty darn close! I did make a few minor adjustments, and ended up with what I think is pretty close to perfection.
The first thing you have to do is open iTunes and turn on your EQ (there is a button in the bottom of the application). Now that you have the EQ open, set the sliders to the following values (from left to right):
+3, +6, +9, +7, +6, +5, +7, +9, +11, +7
When done, your EQ should look like this:

After you have made the changes, you should find that it brings out the right balance of low-, mid- and upper-range tones for almost any type of audio files. If you like it, and want to keep these settings for later use, click on the drop-down menu (it should now say "manual"), select "Make preset...", and give it a name.
Let me know how you like it!

You should -6 from each level to balance it out better around the middle level. If the settings are going up to high its just raising the volume and creates distortion, keep it closer around the 0dB line and you will improve the balance with out pushing it to high which will creat distortion.
-3, 0, +3, +1, 0, -1, +1, +3, +5, +1
these settings will still improve your sound, just not distort it.
