"It's Showtime!"

Apple has sent select members of the media and others invitations to attend a special event scheduled for September 12 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, California.

The invitation displays a white Apple logo with the words "It's Showtime" underneath. Simple, yet thought-provoking (as usual).

As expected, the rumor mills are running in high gear. Here is a rundown of a few of the "expected" new products (in no particular order):

> iTunes Movie Store
> New iPod Nano
> New or Revised video iPod
> New iPod Phone
> Update to iWork Suite (with the inclusion of a spreadsheet application)

We can only wait and see what tricks Steve Jobs and company will pull out of their hat.
